Sheer Lipstick

Sheer colors of lipstick are very popular as they are very calm, natural and are very easy and comfortable to wear. It nearly doesn’t change the natural color of the lips, but just tones up or down the look. These sheer lipsticks may be with or without gloss. Matte ones are more popular, but even if they contain a gloss, they still look natural, as the color is not so much eye-popping. By the way, it’s a great option for those who are not so much obsessed with bright and or full-coverage lipsticks.

Cream Lipstick

Cream lipsticks, in contrast with the sheer ones, are glossy and a bit bolder. Cream lipsticks may serve as a perfect accent on your light makeup as they are very much pigmented and can give dominance to your overall look. But you should be very careful as cream lipsticks may melt, so you must tighten them with a lip liner. It is used instead of a primer and gives a more lasting effect. Be attentive also when choosing the color of the cream lipstick, as it should flatter your facial features and skin tone in order to give the look you imagined.

Matte Lipstick

Matte lipsticks are totally gloss-free ones, which have matte finish. Nearly all lipstick colors have matte variants and they are very popular especially for every-day makeup as they are not so much outstanding. Yet, matte lipsticks have some disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that they may make you lips look thinner, but you can easily avoid this problem by choosing the right tone for your lips. Another one is the hydrating formula of the lipsticks. But this one is also a solving problem; just apply a small amount of moisturizer before applying the matte lipstick and it will prevent your lips from dehydration.

Shine lipsticks contain tiny sparkles that from the reflection of the light make lips look glossy. They, in contrast with matte lipsticks, make your lips look plump. The most important thing that you should take into account is that you should have very fluent lips to apply a glossy lipstick. If there are some cracks on your lips, you should caver them before applying the lipstick. Only in this case the shiny lipstick will work out good.

Frosty Lipstick

Frosty lipsticks are also known as pearlescent lipsticks, which are considered to be old-fashioned nowadays. Nevertheless, many pop starts wear it and so make it modern again. The only important thing to know about them is that they may make you look older. So be attentive when choosing a color because simple pink of frosty lipstick may work out completely another way then some other type of a pink lipstick.

Lip Gloss

There are many alternatives to lipsticks, but the most useful is the lip-gloss. It has a very large range of colors and types. They are very easy to apply, even without a mirror!
