Ingredients:

  • 1.750 pounds all-purpose flour (you also can use quick self rinse flour)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 pound lard (you also can use Crisco all-vegetable shortening)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese (1 pack)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons active yeast

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375*F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with vegetable oil.
In a small mixing bowl combine warm milk, yeast and sugar and set aside to rinse, or until mixture begins to foam.
In a big mixing bowl beat eggs, lard and cream cheese until well blended.
Stir shifted flour, salt and yeast mixture
Beat well (with your hands) until your hands come out clean and dough is smooth and pulls away from the side of the bowl. It may takes more than 5 minutes.
Cover with plastic wrap and sit in a warm place for 2-3 hours (you can lose sight of dough overnight), or until the dough has doubled in size.
Turn the dough out onto a slightly oiled work surface and divide into small equal pieces.
Roll out each piece of dough into a 10 inch rope.
Hold the ends of a 10 inch rope, cross the ends to form a loop, twist the ends once, bring the ends to join the loop, and press to adhere.
Place onto the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Brush the top of each pretzel with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake until light golden brown in color, approximately 15 minutes.
Bonn appetite!

Nothing better than if eaten hot and fresh, if not store in air tight container. They are cheesy, salty, tasty.

Instead of cream cheese, you can use hard shredded cheese like mozzarella, swiss cheese or any other creamy cheese.

Kids will love it, oldies will love it, everybody will love it.

Instead of sesame seeds, if you don’t like them, use any kind of seeds, no matter what.

Homemade pretzel with sesame seeds is an appetizer for any occasions and can be a good snack at work or at school.
